We have a little angel in heaven now, and we laid her to rest on July 12 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetary in Southfield, Michigan. They have a nice "babyland" area with rows and rows of little babies that did not survive long in this world. It's a beautiful place, nicer than most public parks. It has very mature trees in a peaceful setting, with a nice lake and wildlife. Perhaps most appropriate, in their babyland area there is a statue of Jesus playing with children with the quote: "Let the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for of such is the kingdom of God. Mark 10:14". It really helps to ease some of our grief.
Jen and I are putting together a list of all the little amazing things that happened over the last 9 months, and when we get all that written down I'll post them out here. This whole experience with Emma has made us deeper individuals. While we still don't understand all of it, we are comforted to know that we did everything we could for Emma, she did not suffer at all and peacefully went from one perfect world (mom's womb) to another (heaven), and all she ever knew was love during her stay here.
